An American in Assisi
An English Mass is celebrated monthly in the tomb of Saint Francis of Assisi. Join us this month for the Memorial of Saint Patrick. The 5th century Apostle of Ireland exemplifies how Christian witness can have leave a lasting mark on culture. Teaching with imagery in the example of Jesus, St. Patrick used the shamrock to illustrate the Trinity, making a great mystery of God accessible to everyone.
Saint Patrick’s Day became a feast day in the Catholic Church due to the influence of the Irish Franciscan scholar Luke Wadding. He is the patron Saint of Ireland and venerated around the world.
